The Centre for Research and Creation (CRC) strives to provide accurate and up-to-date information. However, some of this information may be incomplete and cannot be guaranteed. Users are advised to contact us to check whether additional information is available or necessary. The CRC cannot be held responsible for the availability or content of sites other than its own that appear as links. The content of the pages of this site is provided for information purposes only and is subject to change at any time without notice. The publication http://crc.alba.edu.lb declines all liability for any damage, direct and/or indirect, whatever its causes, origins, nature or consequences, arising from anyone’s access to the site or inability to access it, as well as from the use of the site and/or from reliance on any information originating directly or indirectly from the site, for any use that may be made of such information.

Scope
The website accessible at the internet address http://crc.alba.edu.lb constitutes the institutional portal of the CRC (hereinafter the “Institutional Portal” or “the site”). The GTU and the Privacy Policy apply to any site, platform or application accessible from the CRC’s institutional portal for which the CRC is the publisher/data controller. The site is governed by these general terms of use (hereinafter the “General Terms of Use (GTU)”). The provisions of these GTU govern the relationship between the CRC and any person who browses the site, uses the various admission and registration services (hereinafter the “Services”) and/or interacts with the CRC in the context of using the Site (hereinafter the “User(s)”). The GTU may be consulted directly on the site at any time. The CRC reserves the right to amend them at any time. The amended GTU shall take effect on the date on which they are posted on the site and shall be deemed accepted without reservation by any user who browses the site after they have been posted. The applicable GTU are those in force on the day the site is browsed.
Minors
Minors may use the site and the services under the responsibility and with the authorisation of their legal guardian.
Intellectual property
The user acknowledges that the site and its content (hereinafter the “content”, including, without limitation, all texts, graphics, images, logos, names, trademarks, designations, sounds, photographs, iconography, videos, drawings, data, software or other material) are protected by intellectual property law and are the exclusive property of the CRC or are licensed to the CRC. The site and/or its content may under no circumstances be modified, reproduced, represented, distributed, displayed, marketed, or incorporated into a derivative or other work, in whole or in part, on any medium whatsoever. In general, the site and its content may only be used in the course of browsing the site and, where applicable, in order to use the services. Any use of all or part of the site and/or its content, in particular by downloading, reproduction, transmission or representation, for purposes other than those provided for in these GTU is strictly prohibited. Subject to compliance with these GTU, the CRC grants users a personal, non-exclusive and non-transferable right to access and use the site and its content solely for the purposes of consulting the site and using the services. With the exception of the foregoing, users are strictly prohibited from:
- copying, reproducing, representing, disseminating, distributing or publishing, permanently or temporarily, all or part of the site and/or its content by any means and on any medium, whether known or as yet unknown;
- creating derivative works from the site and/or its content;
- modifying, translating, adapting or arranging all or part of the site and/or its content;
- disassembling, decompiling or reverse-engineering the site and/or its content;
- distributing, transmitting, disseminating, selling, renting, licensing or exploiting in any manner whatsoever, without the prior express written consent of the CRC, all or part of the site and/or its content.
Personal data
When the user browses the site or uses the services, the CRC collects and uses personal data concerning them. The CRC undertakes to ensure the protection of users’ personal data. Hyperlinks
The site may offer links to other websites. Since the CRC cannot exercise any control over these third-party websites, the CRC makes no commitment as to the availability or content of these sites, and declines all responsibility for the content, advertising, products, services or any other material available on or from these sites or external sources. The CRC also declines all liability for any actual or alleged damage or loss resulting from or in connection with the use of, or reliance on, any content, goods or services available on these third-party websites.
Warranty – Liability
The user’s liability
When using the site and/or accessing the services, the user undertakes to:
- remain courteous and refrain from making any remarks and/or engaging in any disparaging behaviour liable to harm, in any way whatsoever, the CRC, other users or, more generally, any third party;
- not attempt to disrupt or compromise the integrity or security of the CRC’s system, or to decipher any transmission to or from the servers of the Site or of the Services;
- not upload invalid data, viruses, worms or any other software agent via the site or the services;
- not impersonate any natural or legal person, use a false name or make false statements when using the site or the services;
- not engage in any act of hacking, send unsolicited emails or carry out any phishing operation against the CRC or against other users;
- not use the site or the services in a manner that does not comply with these GTU.
Should the user fail to comply with any of these obligations, the user alone shall be liable for any damage caused by them to the CRC, to other users or to third parties. Accordingly, the user undertakes to hold the CRC harmless against all claims, actions or proceedings of any kind that may result therefrom and to compensate it for any damages, costs or indemnities whatsoever relating thereto.
The CRC’s liability
The CRC ensures that the Site is updated regularly but cannot guarantee users the accuracy and/or currency of all the information published. Consequently, the CRC declines all liability for any inaccuracies, omissions or errors. The site is normally accessible 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, subject to:
- cases of force majeure;
- the availability of the internet network;
- temporary suspensions of the site for technical reasons related to updates of the Site, its maintenance or any other technical cause.
The CRC undertakes, on a best-efforts basis, to provide access to the Site and the Services, to act with diligence and competence, and to do everything within reasonable limits to remedy any malfunction brought to its attention. However, the CRC may be obliged to suspend the Site or the Services temporarily or permanently without notice, for technical maintenance reasons of whatever origin or cause, without this giving rise to any liability on the part of the CRC. It is specified that the Internet and the computer and telecommunications systems used in connection with accessing and using the Site are not free of errors, and that interruptions and failures may occasionally occur. The CRC cannot be held liable for any inconvenience or damage related to the use of the Internet. It is the responsibility of users to take all appropriate measures to ensure the security of their equipment, data, software or other items, in particular against contamination by any virus and/or any attempted intrusion of which they may be victims. The CRC also declines all liability:
- In the event of direct or indirect damage caused to the user, of whatever nature, resulting from the content of, access to or use of the site (and/or the sites linked to it),
- In the event of abnormal use or unlawful exploitation of the site.
Applicable law – Disputes
In the event of a claim or dispute concerning the application, interpretation or performance of these GTU, the parties undertake to seek an amicable settlement of the dispute concerned before taking any legal action or resorting to mediation proceedings. Failing an amicable agreement, the Lebanese courts shall have sole jurisdiction. The content of the publication is the responsibility of http://crc.alba.edu.lb Any reproduction, use and/or modification made thereof without the prior written consent of http://crc.alba.edu.lb shall in no way engage the liability of http://crc.alba.edu.lb It should be noted that the law authorises users to use all or part of the content offered on the site for their strictly personal use. However, the representation, in whole or in part, of this site, by any process whatsoever, and/or of the elements contained therein, without the express prior authorisation of the CRC is prohibited and constitutes an infringement punishable under Articles L.335-2 et seq. of the Intellectual Property Code. Any reproduction of the logo without the express authorisation of the site operator is prohibited, within the meaning of Article L.713-2 of the Intellectual Property Code.
Miscellaneous
Should one or more of the provisions of the GTU be held invalid or unenforceable by a competent court or under any applicable law or regulation, such provision(s) shall be deleted without affecting the validity or enforceability of the other provisions of these GTU. The fact that the CRC does not invoke any provision of these GTU shall not be construed as a waiver of the benefit of that provision or of the right to invoke said provision at a later date and/or to seek compensation for any breach of that provision.

The site does not use “cookies” (elements identifying your computer, stored on the hard disk).
