A graduate in architecture from ALBA, Dr Issa-El-Khoury obtained his Master’s in Civil Engineering from the Centre des Hautes Etudes de la Construction, C.H.E.C., Centre des Hautes Etudes de Béton Armé et Béton Précontraint section, C.H.E.B.A.P., Paris, France.
He carried out research on instability in a curved metal beam at The Pennsylvania State University, Pennsylvania, United States, and obtained his Ph.D. in Architectural Engineering.
In addition to teaching structures courses, Dr Issa-El-Khoury supervises the structural aspects of Master’s construction projects and of diploma projects.
His research topics are as follows: Steel Structures, steel structural elements, instability of structural members, and the human body applied to architecture.
Dr Issa-El-Khoury is also passionate about Lebanese athletics. A coach certified by the International, French and American federations, he trains several teams, including the Lebanese Army squad. He has designed a comprehensive database on Lebanese athletics and works on the statistics and results of Lebanese athletes.
