May Davie holds a PhD in History from Paris-Sorbonne University and is Professor and Research Director at the University of Balamand, where she heads the department “Religious Heritage: Art and Architecture” (PRAA) and its laboratory “Religious Architecture of the Orthodox Patriarchate of Antioch” (ARPOA). She has published a series of books with the University of Balamand Press in the collection “Patrimoine Antiochien : Diversité et Ouverture”, which she edits, and she also runs the history journal Chronos.

Her other field of specialisation is the urban history of Beirut, its neighbourhoods, population and monuments from the Mamluks to the contemporary period, topics on which she has published several books and articles and produced expert reports.
